Catalyst is a workshop run at Ignite, an Innovation Lab for Adecco Staffing. The goal of the workshop was to invite teams to create innovative solutions to their business challenges. In order to encourage companies to sign up and to also reflect the high-energy atmosphere of the workshop, the branding and website needed an overhaul. By using an unexpected layout, bright colors, bold typography, playful illustrations and colorful photography, I was able to create a website that captured the fun and informative essence of the workshop.
Role: Web Design, Front-End Development, Illustration
The previous website no longer had the correct information for what to expect from the workshop. We also felt that it didn’t accurately depict the experience. It had been a few months since we ran a workshop and we were excited to get it started again. In order to encourage companies to sign up, we wanted the site and brand elements to reflect the high-energy atmosphere of the workshop.
Before I began working on the design, I met with our brilliant Strategist to review the goals of the site and the content I’d be working with. Together we quickly came up with wireframes and paired down the content to make it web-friendly.

Phase one of this project was to produce a web presence that truly represented Ignite and the Catalyst workshop we ran. That called for a fun, energetic and unconventional design and we needed to get it out quick so that we can get started on spreading the word. This kind of design layout can present a challenge but I was excited to get coding. I kept it simple and ensured it was responsive for a beautiful experience on all devices.
The site I built was essentially an MVP. I designed it with the intention of adding more movement and dimension. In the future, we plan to include playful animations, parallax scrolling on the overlapping content and improve the signup experience.
